ABOUT RIDGE CYCLING

Ridge Cycling was founded in Sweden by Lonnie Jensen in 2009. Originally from Marin County, California, he has since made Båstad, Sweden his home along with his wife Elin and two kids Morris and Nora May. ​Despite his last name, Lonnie's Danish is extremely unimpressive. Swedish or English work fine. 

OUR MISSION

Ridge Cycling started as a way to:

• Promote cycling for both mountain bikers and road bikers in the Hallandsåsen/Bjäre peninsula region.  
•  Offer a guiding service and enable cyclists of all levels to get to the best rides easily and quickly, without wasting their time and getting lost.
• Develop legally marked, posted and mapped single track trail systems while networking with existing trails to create one of the best cross country/downhill mountain biking destinations in Southern Sweden.  
• Contribute new ideas and concepts together with local communities and private land owners to ensure that the singletrack riding on Hallandsåsen develops in the smoothest possible way with the least amount of unnecessary impact on nature and non-riders.

TRAIL BUILDING

Every winter, de-forestation and winter storms change the web of trails we have mapped out in our heads. Every spring, we spend hours, days and weeks connecting trails, building new ones, communicating with land owners and authorities, test riding and re-mapping the area. We are based out of Vallåsens Värdshus, located by the north slope of Hallandsåsen. From the E6 it takes about 15 minutes to get to our base. By car, that is.
